Dear Parent/Guardian

Due to the adjustments to the S.A. School Law no 84 it is necessary that the following information with regards to school fees be forwarded to you by the principal.

It is impossible for the principal to interview each parent on an individual basis when school re-opens in January 2016.  The Governing Body has thus decided to forward the necessary information in written form.  If you find it necessary to speak to the principal feel free to make an appointment at the office.

The control form (Annexure A) has 6 questions which need to be answered once you have read the circular.  Complete it by marking the appropriate block with an X and returning the forms to school no later than 13 January 2016.

1.    School fees for 2016 are R8 000.00 per scholar.  If the fees are paid in a once off payment on or before 8 February 2016, you will be given a R680.00 reduction.

2.    Parents/Guardians who have scholars in the school are responsible for the payment of school fees, unless a 100% exemption has been granted.

3.    If you believe that you may qualify for exemption – you personally need to collect the application form from Me Loots.  Exemption forms are not given to scholars, parents/guardians need to sign in recognition of receiving these forms. Annexure A is not the application form.

4.    Mark the block in Annexure A if you think that you qualify for exemption and want to apply for and collect  an exemption form at Me Loots office.

5.    Once the form has been completed return it to Me Loots so that she can sign for the receipt of the form. Incomplete forms will not be accepted by Me Loots

6.    Application forms for exemption may be collected from 15 January 2016 from Me Loots.  Applications close on Friday 29 January 2016.

At a parents’ meeting on 26 October 2015, the fee for 2016 was approved.  If you cannot pay the full fee for the year the first payment of R1 200.00  must be paid on the day that school starts, 13 January 2016. You can make an arrangement with the school to pay the balance on a monthly or quarterly basis, hence the inclusion of Annexure B, which is an agreement for payment that needs to be completed and also returned to the school on or before 13 January 2016.

IF THE FORMS (A & B) HAS NOT BEEN COMPLETED AND RETURNED WE WILL CONCLUDE THAT THE FULL AMOUNT WILL BE PAID ON
13 JANUARY 2016 AS STIPULATED ABOVE IN POINT 1.

If you want to apply for exemption, you still need to complete Annexure B. In case you don’t qualify for exemption, you need to have a proposed arrangement in place for 2016.  If you qualify for any percentage of exemption the arrangement will automatically be cancelled. Please note that according to law you are responsible for the school fees until the exemption has been granted to your child.

The school will deal with outstanding school fees according to the prescribed process of the School’s Governing Body.
